Across the Track

ACROSS THE TRACK
Like a monkey there upon your back
Did I follow you across the track
Did I follow you across the track
To hold you tight and leave no slack
Did I walk in someone else's shoes
Like an innocent with a bad man's blues
Like an innocent with a bad man's blues
Did you make me pay another man's dues
Nothing comes easily
For creatures like you and me
Darkened by shadows
Haunted and bereaved
Are you mad at me, are you mad at me
Don't judge me for someone else's deed
Don't judge me for someone else's deed
I hate those men sincerely

"This is absolutely wonderful, melding an almost Richard Thompson-esque guitar figure to some haunting mandolin and some serious authentic 'americana' (train whistles in the far far distance, even!) vibe - with great lyrics that carry the mysterious mood... Great all around perfomance, too. Really well done, I really like this!"
(Mike Skliar, singer-songwriter)
